Call for short film entries to the 15th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus (ISFFC)
The Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture and Rialto Theatre are launching an open call for short film submissions to the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus.
The main objective of the ISFFC is the promotion of the art of Cinema by showcasing a diverse programme of short films from around the globe. The Festival also aims at presenting the work of talented filmmakers who successfully use creative cinematic language forms to tell a story.
The Festival is an annual event, accepting film submissions to its international and national competition sections in the following genres: fiction, documentary, experimental, student and animation short films. Eligible films must have a maximum duration of 30 minutes. Films may only be submitted to the ISFFC via the following platforms: shortfilmdepot.com and filmfreeway.com.
National Competition: The selected Cypriot short films compete both for the International and the National Awards. Cypriot directors who live and work in Cyprus or abroad are eligible to submit their work. All films must be Cyprus premieres.
International Competition: The International Short Film Festival of Cyprus was selected by the European Film Academy to join the network of its partner festivals. Therefore, since 2019, the ISFFC has the right to nominate one short film for the European Film Academy Awards. A five-member international jury consisting of personalities from the film industry will decide upon the awards (monetary and in kind) in various categories.
The five-member International Jury members will be announced at a later stage.
The Festival will take place at Rialto Theatre in Lemesos from the 11th until the 17th of October 2025.
All interested parties are requested to submit their film by the 2nd of May 2025 the latest.
