Μinister Costas Kadis travels to Brussels for the Environment Council
The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Mr. Costas Kadis, leaves this afternoon for Brussels, where he will participate tomorrow in the EU Environment Council.
The Council’s proceedings will begin with a policy debate on the strategic long-term vision for a climate neutral economy with a view to achieving a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the EU. The Environment Ministers will also hold a discussion on the directive on drinking water as well as the economic and social priorities of the Member States over the coming months, aiming to achieve sustainable development.
Latest developments regarding the Global Pact for the Environment initiative (GPE) will be discussed during the informal working lunch.
