Job vacancies: 4th quarter 2018

The number of job vacancies for the 4th quarter of 2018 was 3.390. The number of job vacancies increased by 126 (3,9%) compared to the same quarter of the previous year where the number was 3.264. Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2018 the number of job vacancies increased by 4.277 (-55,8%). (Table 1)
The job vacancy rate for the 4th quarter of 2018 was 1,0%, while the job vacancy rate for the previous quarter and the 4th quarter of 2017 was 2,2% and 1,0% respectively. The largest job vacancy rates for the 4th quarter of 2018 were observed in the Sectors Information and Communication (3,0%) and Administrative and Support Service Activities (2,2%). (Table 2)

METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Definitions
A job vacancy has to be announced as vacant outside the enterprise concerned, has to be filled in the near future and the employer must have taken active steps to find a suitable candidate.
The job vacancy rate is calculated on the total number of persons employed.
Coverage
The survey covers enterprises with one and more employees in all the Economic Activities of NACE Rev.2 except A (Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing), T (Activities of Households as Employers; Undifferentiated Goods- and Services-Producing Activities of Households for own use) and U (Activities of Extraterritorial Organizations and Bodies).
Collection of data
The data collection is carried out by telephone interview every quarter.
