Η Ειδική Αντιπρόσωπος του Γενικού Γραμματέα του ΟΗΕ στην Κύπρο κα Elizabeth Spehar, φιλοξένησε συνάντηση του Προέδρου της Δημοκρατίας κ. Νίκου Αναστασιάδη και του Τουρκοκύπριου ηγέτη κ. Mustafa Akinci, στην κατοικία της σήμερα Παρασκευή, 26 Οκτωβρίου 2018, στις 10:00.

Μετά το πέρας της συνάντησης η ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ εξέδωσε το ακόλουθο κοινό ανακοινωθέν:

“SECRETARY-GENERAL’S GOOD OFFICES MISSION IN CYPRUS

Joint Statement by the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mr. Mustafa Akıncı and the Greek Cypriot leader, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades

NICOSIA, 26 October 2018 – Today the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mr. Mustafa Akıncı, and the Greek Cypriot leader, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, met at the Chief of Mission residence in the United Nations Protected Area (UNPA) under the auspices of Special Representative/Deputy Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Cyprus, Ms. Elizabeth Spehar.

The leaders are pleased to announce that on 12 November 2018, crossing points at Lefka/Aplici and Deryneia/Derinya will be open.

The Greek Cypriot leader, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, and the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mr. Mustafa Akıncı, also had a frank exchange of views on the way forward. They confirmed their readiness to engage constructively with Ms. Jane Holl Lute, who will be visiting the island on 31 October 2018.
